I'm really bad at this....

I really am bad at blogging these days and it bothers me no end. I would really love to be good at recording things again like I was in the first couple of years that this blog existed. Oh well, I'm sure there is nobody that still looks for my updates but I will continue to try to improve and increase the number of posts because I do love looking back on my old posts to see what we have been doing and what I've forgotten about. I'm sure if I could get my passion for scrapbooking back that it would automatically spark the enthusiasm for blogging... a vicious circle really.

We have now moved and are beginning to feel settled in our new house and I have to say that I ♥ LOVE ♥ everything about it... ok except for maybe the sand that is still around in the absence of lawn. I love the size of the house, that the kids are using their end of the house in just the way we had hoped, the newness of everything and believe it or not (for the time being anyway) I am enjoying cleaning and keeping everything looking nice. I am looking forward now to developing new routines and seeing how our lives will change when the kids go back to school. Here are a few photos...

Even though we've been busy with the house through the school holidays we have managed to fit in a fair amount of social activities and I think the kids have enjoyed their break. Without a doubt, living closer to their friends has already had a major impact on the kids' social lives and I love that! Emily spent almost all week with her friend Hayley in the first week and had a big social week this week too. Haydn has been out riding his bike with his mates and has friends stay overnight. Taylah has had lots of invitations to go out with her friends and I've been less than popular on occasions because I've had to make executive decisions that did not fit with Miss T's grand plans. Even my social life is looking good since being closer to town and I've had lots of visitors this week, lots of laughs and (ooops) lots of bottles of wine.... gotta love that!

Emily celebrated her 13th birthday last Monday and was (as usual) one very lucky girl. We gave her an iPod touch which we ordered from the Apple store and had her name and a birthday message engraved. She got lots of money and iTunes vouchers from friends and family as well as DVDs of her two new favourite TV series, Dance Academy and Glee. Emily has been planning her birthday party for about a year, knowing that we would be in the new house and was determined to have a sleepover. She also wanted a 'theme' for the party so after much deliberation we decided on a 'Mad Hatter' party. All of the girls were awesome and really got into the swing of the theme. They all made their own 'Mad Hat' and lots of them dressed in the gorgeous 'Alice in Wonderland' themed clothes from Jay Jays.

Well there is probably lots more that I could blog about now that I've started but I think I will leave that till another day (hopefully not too long). Right now the sun is shining and I have lots of things to get done around here before we have more visitors after lunch.

I hope all is well in your house and that everyone enjoyed the school holidays. Till next time, take care.

Kim ♥

Hi Kim....nice to see you back blogging again....your house looks fabulous......you must all be so very pleased......

Blogging really is a great way to record things that happen around us in our daily lives....I had my Blog entries for 2009 made into a book.....and I'm soooooo pleased with the outcome......I didn't realise how so much had happened last year until I saw it in print in the hard copy......

I'm going to do the same for 2010 early next year....as we have had the Wedding and a few other things happen this year....and have some fun things still to come for 2010....

xoxo

Hey Kim

I read your blog - regularly! I enjoy your updates and fabulous photos!!!! But I know what you mean about not being so good at it, because I'm there right now...
I am not as passionate as I was.
I'm reall tired and not at all focused. The busier my life gets the less I want to blog right now -or rather...the less I have the energy to blog! I miss it and I feel bad... but I guess I'll get the bug back one day...

Take care!
For now just enjoy our beautiful new home! I love that *NEW* feeling! That was 21 months ago for me now!

Hugs
